;DThanks for the welcome, I've been playing Anglo for 23 years, played in a Ceildah band for 10 years, have played for Morris dance for about 17 years and like 17th c tunes, scottish music, Morris tunes and will have a go at playing any tune that takes my fancy. You hum it pet and I'll have a go at playing it. Only the one concertina, a Dipper ;D

Well, I suppose if you can only afford one ...... it might as well be the best! C17th Concertina Tunes eh? ...... now where oh where did you find them? ;D But seriously, my wife Sabine & I do a fair bit of costumed music work throughout the year, in fact we'll be playing in Carrickfergus Castle this Saturday, but we have to stick to more authentic looking instruments like Fife, Fiddle, Harp, Hurdy Gurdy & Hammered Dulcimer. Pity, cause I know lots of our tunes would sound great on the Concertina. Maybe I'll take it along once for fun, but call it a Symphonium instead! Cheers Dick P.S. Like the Avatar by the way!

Like the Avatar by the way! ;D Any tune can be a concertina tune and Purcell and the Playford dance tunes sound really good on a concertina. And as for calling it a Symphonium..... well.... when playing Playford tunes at a May Day morning in Oxford a few years back a very well spoken and dressed chap complimented me on how well my HARPSICHORD sounded ;D

Yes I know that feeling very well. I've lost track of the many exotic & weird names folks have given my Hammered Dulcimer, especially when they catch me playing it in costume, in some old Castle! Human imagination is a wonderful thing!

complimented me on how well my HARPSICHORD sounded ;D ;D Just a couple of weeks ago the accordionist in our little sea shanty group couldn't remember what my instrument was called, and said that she liked the sound of "l'accordina".
