Thank you for your welcome and hello from Inverness. I have only taken up the English Concertina 6 months ago. I have played folk and dance music on tenor banjo / mandolin etc for decades but was getting 'banjo elbow' from too many triplets in my retirement. Rather than reduce my playing, I decided to take up an instrument with entirely different fingering and principles - and I wish I had done it years ago. I have a Morse for fast and furious and an Edeophone tenor- treble for sweetness, depth and warmth. I find that the concertina is transforming my appreciation of traditional music and am revisiting Scottish pipe marches and strathspeys. I have become acquainted with Northumbrian dance music. I play Irish music in a band with Uillleann pipes, Flutes etc and have been bringing the concertina into the slower tunes.
