Hello - and thanks for the welcome. I'm about a year into concertina playing. I've played other instruments for years, but was looking for an instrument for singing - I normally sing unaccompanied, but it's nice to have some support. I'm really enjoying the instrument, and it's led me to play more Irish tunes than I'm used to - which is certainly a good thing. I have a couple of Wheatstones: a 1930s instrument which is great to play, and a 1900-ish brass-reeded instrument, which is very good for singing with. I'm based in Aberdeen.
best, Mike Burton

Hi Mike,
Living in Aberdeen, did you attend the excellent Button Boxes and Moothies event there, last year?
If so, like me, you'll have seen & heard some really great Concertina players.
Cheers, Dick

I did - and I agree it was excellent. (Somewhat daunting for the new player though.)
I think the programme said that this was the second such event. Do you know whether more are planned?
Mike
