Following a couple of requests from musician friends, I decided to post another version of this video, over on Vimeo, this time featuring mostly video clips of me actually playing the instruments.

#41 ~ McFarlane's Lament!
Another ancient Irish tune, collected by Edward Bunting!
I play it here on Hammered Dulcimer, English Concertina, Mandolin, Fiddle & Tin Whistle.
Of course Edward Bunting died in 1843, which makes me wonder when the very first English Concertina actually arrived on these Irish shores & did he ever hear one!
Cheers,
Dick

#42 ~ Love’s a Tormenting Pain
Played by me here on Hammered Dulcimer & English Concertina, Love’s a Tormenting Pain was composed by William Connallon in 1670 & collected by Edward Bunting from the playing of Harper Denis Hempson, not far from me here on the Causeway Coast, at Magilligan, in 1796.

#44 Aisling an Oigfhir!
Played here on Hammered Dulcimer, English Concertina & Fiddle.
Aisling An Oigfhir, (The young man's dream ) from the first Bunting collection, has been regarded as the original version of Danny Boy (Londonderry Aire), itself sometimes attributed to Rory Dall.
Cheers, Dick
